@@cleroyster2610 I have but not any more. I play music for a lot of them still.
Sounded great....thank you!
As a young boy in the 50's I learned this song from my grandmother, who always said she was a year older than the year, being born in 1899. She was born in Wichita falls Kansas and came out to Wilbur Oregon by train in 1906. Her father got a 1/4 section donation land claim on the hill between Sutherlin, Oregon and Wilbur Oregon, which he could not keep hold of through the depression.
I know much more about this if you are interested. Sutherlin Oregon History.
Nice!
Lovely music as always

Interesting beginning!
Got that out of a 19th century dance book. Thought it was pretty cool.
Thanks! It was certainly familiar. I think it's a common feature in some Irish/Celtic fiddling traditions.
My favorite line in the tune is The animals win in 4 by 4 hurrah, hurrah The animals went in 4 by 4 Hurrah, hurrah The animals went in 4 by 4 The great hippopotamus got stuck in the door. And they all went into the arc four to get out of the rain.
Absolutely beautiful. It's really too bad that more people don't play this instrument.
Lovely music. Greetings from Spain :)

Your playing is amazing. Hope to get to your level someday!
I'm learning this right now, thank you for the good video! I listened to your fiddle version too.

Terrific! 🔥
I'm currently reading Silas Marner, and this song was played at a dance. I wanted to hear what it sounded like, you play beautifully!
Learning to play the fiddle and would love to play this song if you have the tabs?!?!
Hello ! I'm from France, I only learned the classical music at school, I don't know how to do Irish fiddling, I love it but I feel unable to do it. I learned Bonny Blue Flag but it's much more like a sweet melody 🎻 you play so good !
Great!!!
I see you are using a Baroque bow grip.
This is one of two tunes that comprise my homework from my last lesson. You play it a bit different in spots than the version I learned so I will pick up these variations as well for added color.
Beautiful. Do you by chance know how plays the version of this song on the show Deadwood? I can share a link
AMEN!!!
As a Yankee who is a descendant of General John Hunt Morgan, I salute you.
Larga vida a los soldados confederados
Away down South in the land of traitors Rattlesnakes and alligators Right away (right away), come away (come away) Right away (right away), come away Where cotton's king and men are chattels Union boys will win the battles Right away (right away), come away (come away) Right away (right away), come away We'll all go down to Dixie, away, away Each Dixie boy must understand that he must mind his Uncle Sam Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie I wish I was in Baltimore I'd make secession traitors roar Right away (right away), come away (come away) Right away (right away), come away We'll put the traitors all to route I'll bet my boots we'll whip 'em out Right away (right away), come away (come away) Right away (right away), come away We'll all go down to Dixie, away, away Each Dixie boy must understand that he must mind his Uncle Sam Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie! Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie Oh, may our Stars and Stripes still wave Forever o'er the fee and brave Right away (right away), come away (come away) Right away (right away), come away And let our motto ever be Forever Union and for liberty Right away (right away), come away (come away) Ride away (ride away), come away We'll all go down to Dixie, away, away Each Dixie boy must understand that he must mind his Uncle Sam Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie Away (away), away (away) We'll all go down to Dixie
Don't ask who ruined the African American and Latino population of the United States...Koreans ahem ahem
Dixie is a Song you Feel when hearing it.
Epic!
Thanks for uploading these videos on the Internet so that the music/history can live on!
Playing the union version at the next neo confederate reunion 🗣🗣🗣🗣
We play it as Andy De Jarlis's too. We put it in a set with Haste to the Wedding and Calliope House--this is the middle tune
Good job !
🎉
Sounds like one of those _Ken Burns The Civil War_ background songs.
Could you do battle hymn of the republic?
